Final Course Concert

Join us on our journey to "Jolly Olde Englande" as we present some of the music we have been learning during our week together at CRMSS Pacific 2026. Our theme this year is This Sceptred Isle: English Polyphony from The Eton Choirbook to Orlando Gibbons and Everything In Between and you can expect to hear some of England's greatest masterworks from the Tudor and Jacobean periods.

We will perform a representative selection of pieces from the large amount of repertoire we will have covered over the course of our week together. You'll hear the entire group, as well as small chamber choirs and two-per-part vocal consorts. Some of our soloists will also perform as well.

The concert takes place at St. Helen's Parish in Burnaby Heights, will last approximately 2 hours, and will include an intermission. Parking at the church is available for free.

Choral Evensong at Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver

We are very excited to be singing Choral Evensong at Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver. This will be an English Cathedral style service of Choral Evensong, with the music provided by our participants. The service is free to attend and will last approximately 45 minutes.

High Mass at St. Helen's Parish

We will be performing the music at High Mass at St. Helen's Parish in Burnaby, BC on Sunday, August 17th, 2025. This will take place at 11:30am and all are welcome to attend this Roman Catholic church service.

Nightly Compline services

Throughout the week, at the end of each day, we sing Compline at St. Helen's Parish.

These services began at 9pm each day, beginning on Sunday, August 10th. Our last Compline service will take place on Saturday, August 16th.

Our Compline service is simple and largely made up of plainsong, with a few simple motets for contrast, and is a way of bringing our day together to a peaceful close - precisely as the service was designed to do in its original monastic context. These services serve as a way for us to come together as a course and to experience the daily rhythm of liturgical music making that formed the wider context for most of the music we are studying.

Our nightly Compline services were open to the public and there is no charge to attend. Compline usually lasts around 30 or 40 minutes.

Depending on how each day of the course has gone, sometimes we take a flexible approach with our scheduling at this time of the day, especially regarding the 9pm service start time. Please do join us, but if we are behind schedule, be prepared to observe some of our rehearsal (you are most welcome to do this!) and perhaps to stay a little longer than expected.
