CRMSS Scholars Welcome Concert
Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 7:00pm
St. John the Evangelist Church, London Ontario
BUY TICKETSWe are very excited about our newest CRMSS expansion, the CRMSS Scholars program. This grew from our collaboration with the English musician Robert Hollingworth (director of I Fagiolini) and his students at the University of York in the UK studying on the "Solo Voice Ensemble Singing" master's degree course that he directs. This is a unique course of study in that a small number of graduate students come to study and work with Robert each year learning how to sing in one-per-part vocal consort contexts. We have been lucky enough to host a few cohorts of these UK-based singers at CRMSS courses over the years, at both our Ontario and Pacific events.
Five UK students are retuning to be with us again this year and Greg Skidmore, CRMSS' Founder and Artistic Director, has hand-picked five graduate level singing students from across Canada to join them and form a 10-voice ensemble. This is the first year of the CRMSS Scholars program, which we hope will evolve in the coming years into a fully fledged Young Artist Program for ensemble singers in Canada, focussing on music from the Renaissance.
Come and hear this new ensemble of 10 exceptional young singers as we open our CRMSS Ontario 2026 week, on Saturday, May 23 2026.
It will be a short recital, starting at 7:00pm and lasting approximately one hour. There won't be an intermission.
The event will be held at our main CRMSS Ontario 2026 venue, St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, in London Ontario.
There is one flat rate for tickets for this short recital concert:
Regular tickets: $20.00
Children 12 years and under are welcome to attend the recital for free.

Please join us for the final concert of The Canadian Renaissance Music Summer Schools' "CRMSS Ontario 2026" course, in which we showcase all of the beautiful
Renaissance music we have been learning during the week. Our theme this year is
The Ambassadors: Travel and Diplomacy and Espionage, Oh My! and so in this concert you'll hear masterpieces by some of the most interesting composers of the
era who were involved in international intrigue from Renaissance Europe.
This concert will include choral, instrumental, and solo vocal music, all written during the 16th and early 17th centuries. You'll hear different sized ensembles and both secular and sacred music.
We'll sing music by composers such as Orlande de Lassus and Josquin des Prez, as well as repertoire drawn from a famous collection of manuscripts from the Renaissance by the renowned Flemish scribe, composer, and diplomat Petrus Alamire.
The concert starts at 4:30pm and will last approximately 2 hours. There will be an intermission.
It will be at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church (280 St James St, London, ON N6A 1X3).
