Nightly Compline services at St. John the Evangelist

Throughout the week, at the end of each day, we will sing a service of Compline. These services will take place at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in London, Ontario each day (Saturday, May 23 through Saturday, May 30 inclusive) except Thursday, May 28.

Our Compline services at St John the Evangelist begin at 9pm each day.

St John the Evangelist Anglican Church is located at 280 St James St, London, ON N6A 1X3

There will be no Compline service at St. John the Evangelist on Thursday, May 28, as we are in Guelph all day on the 28th.

You can find a map to St. John the Evangelist on our contact page.

Our Compline service is simple and largely made up of plainsong, with a few simple motets for contrast, and is a way of bringing our day together to a peaceful close - precisely as the service was designed to do in its original monastic context. These services serve as a way for us to come together as a course and to experience the daily rhythm of liturgical music making that formed the wider context for most of the music we are studying.

Our nightly Compline services were open to the public and there is no charge to attend.

"Ice CRMSS Sundaes" Fundraiser & Silent Auction

Immediately following the Final Public Concert on Sunday, May 31, we will be hosting a "Ice CRMSS Sundaes" Fundraiser & Silent Auction.

This will take place in the Parish Hall at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, the same venue as the concert. We expect it'll start at around 6:45pm or so and we'll wrap up at 8:00pm.

We will be selling ice cream sundaes, with a variety of toppings, and there will also be a silent auction with some fantastic items up for grabs. All proceeds from this event will go towards supporting The Canadian Renaissance Music Summer Schools charity, including our new CRMSS Scholars program.

This is a ticketed event, mainly so we know how much ice cream to prepare! The button below will take you to our donations and payment partner, Zeffy, where you can read more about the event and purchase tickets.
